Training Leaders/CLOs Discuss State of the Industry
Four noted training professionals from the Kansas City Metro Area will be our panel guests. The discussion will be moderated by Cheryl Burton, Senior Training Consultant for Rockhurst University and Program Director, KCASTD. The panel members will be discussing issues facing the workplace learning environment. Panel guests include:
Janice Schonwetter, Vice President, Talent Management – Black and Veatch, where she has a solid track record of achievement in human resources and business planning. Currently, Janice is overseeing the global staffing, learning and development and organization effectiveness functions of the global engineering firm. Janice holds master’s degrees in Education and Human Resources. Additionally, she holds joint certifications as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Certified Benefits Professional (CBP). As a published author, she is also recognized as an adjunct professional at many local universities, where she teaches human resources, management and organization behavior.
Valerie Andruss – Valerie is the Training Officer of the Corporate Training Solutions department at Assurant Employee Benefits, where she specializes in developing instructor led, online, and web-based training programs. Valerie holds certifications in Instructional Design and Training Management through Langevin Learning Services and is a certified AchieveGlobal facilitator.
Anne Baber – Anne is co-founder of Contacts Count, the international training and consulting firm that specializes in teaching networking as a professional and business competency. Baber developed extraordinary insights into networking inside organizations as a former director of corporate communications, executive speechwriter, and initiator/facilitator of the first internal women’s network at Sprint. Author of Make Your Contacts Count, Baber’s areas of academic expertise – management, human resources and communications – sparked her focus on networking as a career and business-building competency. Baber holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Betty Maes – As the Organizational Development Manager for Commerce Bank, Maes’ primary focus is in the areas of consulting/coaching, leadership development, sales training and management processes, talent management and performance consulting. Betty uses her expertise to develop senior level managers and executives, high potential groups and various other work groups in all offices throughout Midwest. Betty has a Master’s degree in guidance and counseling, MBA and Ph.D in Education.
